Complimentary coffee and tours of the theatre will be provided starting at 10am, with brunch served on stage at 11am. This is a one-seating brunch that will finish by 1pm.
10:00 A.M. Coffee and tours of the theatre
11:00 A.M. Brunch-on-stage presented by Chef Du Cuisine Raul Parada and the staff of Big Grove Tavern. Brunch includes one complimentary mimosa to each guest (21 years of age or older).
Intimate acoustic performances during the brunch will be provided on-stage by musicians Samuel Payne and Cody Jensen.
Samuel Payne is a folk singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Urbana, IL. A two-time red ribbon winner of the Rocky Grass Flatpick Guitar Contest in Lyons, CO, Samuel performs original and American Roots music with infectious enthusiasm and expert skill on guitar, mandolin, and banjo. His warm vocals, honest delivery, and impeccable rhythm have charmed audiences across the Midwest and beyond. Inspired by heroes like Doc Watson, Norman Blake, John Hartford, and Tim O’Brien, his music is a unique celebration of American song.
Cody Jensen is a multi-instrumentalist specializing in drums and percussion. After studying djembe and dunduns with master drummer Bolokada Conde for several years, Conde asked him to perform on and produce an album of traditional music on location in Guinea. While there, Jensen took advantage of the opportunity to study balafon with Khaly Camara. Additionally, Jensen studied Balinese traditional music and dance accompaniment with I Ketut Gede Asnawa at the University of Illinois and with I Nyoman Astita in Denpasar, Bali. Currently, he tours with Bones Jugs N Harmony, playing traps, steel drum, xylophone, and rhythm bones.
