Box Office Hours
The Virginia Theatre Box Office is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 2 hours prior to each performance.
Parking is available in metered spaces on the streets surrounding the theatre (Park Avenue, Randolph Avenue, State Street, Main Street, etc.). Please see individual meters for enforcement times and rates, as they do vary. The City of Champaign Hill Street Parking Deck (123 West Hill Street) is 1½ blocks from the theatre.

Types of Payments Accepted

- Full payment is due at time of purchase
- $1 of every ticket goes to the Virginia Theatre Restoration Fund.
- Tickets may be left at Will-Call, emailed, or, for a flat fee of $1.25, your tickets will be mailed to the address of your choosing.
- Please note that all sales are final. No refunds, returns, or exchanges.
Tickets are required for all ages, for all shows. One admission per ticket. Infant comp tickets may be made available to the public at select performances; please inquire with the Box Office prior to ordering tickets. Each show’s presenter will determine age restrictions for entry, if applicable.
If your tickets are waiting for you at Will Call, please bring a photo ID with you.
In some cases, latecomers will be seated at the discretion of the production.
No cameras or recording devices allowed inside the theatre. Any exception to this policy will be announced at the performance as well as in-advance, when possible.
There is no outside food or drink allowed inside the Virginia Theatre at any time.
Smoking is strictly prohibited in the Virginia Theatre.
For everyone’s safety, the Virginia Theatre inspects all bags upon entry of the theatre. Please allow extra time for this process.
The newly-restored Virginia Theatre has updated its restrooms to be ADA-compliant and now includes transfer seating on both levels plus wheelchair-accessible seating on the auditorium’s main floor. Up to 18 wheelchairs may be accommodated with one companion seat available per wheelchair.
Tickets for accessible and companion seating may be purchased by calling 217-356-9063.
The theatre also features a wheelchair lift for guests accessing the stage from the auditorium, a LULA (Limited Use Limited Access) elevator allowing access from the stage to the downstairs dressing rooms, and an elevator allowing access to the building’s upstairs lobby and restrooms.*
Assisted listening devices are available upon request at no charge. A single earpiece bud, ear speaker, or neck loop may be used by patrons to enhance their enjoyment of films, spoken word events, and some live performances. Devices may be obtained at the box office before the show. A credit card, driver’s license, or other form of ID is required.
Sign Language interpretation can be made available for events, upon request. Please give a minimum of two weeks’ notice to the box office.

*Note that the Virginia’s mezzanine and upper balcony seating are still accessible only via stairs.
At some shows, if you have a party of 10 or more, the Virginia may be able to offer a discount. Please call 217-356-9063 to speak to Mitch Marlow. Group discounts vary by event and presenter.
Important Information About Third Party Ticket Vendors
There are many third-party websites offering to resell tickets to shows at the Virginia Theatre. For the best available seats—at the originally advertised price—and to reduce the risk of fraud, you may purchase tickets through the Virginia Theatre box office, at the Virginia Theatre’s official website (thevirginia.org), or charge by phone at 217/356-9063.
Please note that only valid Virginia Theatre tickets will be honored at the door. If you purchase tickets through a third party, such as a ticket broker, the third party must be duly authorized by and registered with the State of Illinois, and comply with applicable law. Tickets sold in violation of the law may be confiscated without compensation.
Ticket Sale Terms and Conditions
Virginia Theatre tickets are a revocable license, and the Virginia Theatre/Champaign Park District and/or the event organizers may deny ticket holders entry (and subsequently issue full refund) for any reason.
Users of Virginia Theatre tickets assume all risks of personal injuries and property damage or loss incidental to the events for which theatre tickets are issued, whether occurring prior to, during, or after the event. Management reserves the right to refuse admission or to eject any person whose conduct management deems to be disorderly or intrusive upon the enjoyment of other patrons.
Photography of any kind, video recording, and use of cell phone and texting devices while attending events is usually prohibited unless indicated otherwise. Violators of this policy may be ejected without refund.
Outside food/beverages or weapons of any kind are not permitted in the venue and may result in ejection without refund.
In case of event cancellation or date/time change, keep your ticket and contact the theatre for more information. The Virginia Theatre is not responsible for lost or stolen tickets.
Tickets are issued by the Virginia Theatre on behalf of the producer, which may or may not be the Virginia Theatre/Champaign Park District. Tickets obtained from sources other than the Champaign Park District (and Virginia Theatre), its authorized agents, or the theatre box office may be lost or stolen, or not in compliance with applicable law and may not be honored. Tickets not purchased from Virginia Theatre box office or www.thevirginia.org must be through a third party vendor, ticket broker, person, firm, entity, service, or internet website operation duly authorized by and registered with the State of Illinois and who or which complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws. Unlawful resale of tickets (or attempted resale) is grounds for seizure and cancellation without compensation. All sales are final.

Personal information that is collected, such as name, address, telephone number, and other non-protected data are private and cannot be given to the general public, including third parties, for direct correspondence or advertising purposes. The Park District utilizes this information for the processing of ticket sales for programs and events at the Virginia Theatre and in order to contact you, if necessary. If such information is not provided, you may not be able to purchase tickets for Virginia Theatre programs or events.
The information you provide may be released to: persons authorized to have access to the information under state or federal law; persons authorized by court order to have access to the information; persons to whom you have given written consent to have access to the information; and all individuals employed by or permitted under contract with the Park District who have a need to know the information in order to administer, manage, and improve Park District programming, administration, and operations. At any time, you may request that your online Virginia Theatre patron account be deactivated, and we will comply with your request. Historical transactions may be retained by the Park District for audit and archival purposes.
Information Gathering and Cookies
A cookie is a very small test file inserted onto your computer by a website that a person visits. When a user returns to the website, the cookie is then read by the site’s web server. Cookies are used for many things, from making websites more personal to tracking your web browsing habits.
Visitors to the Virginia Theatre website can read or download information, such as schedules, forms, or brochures from the website. The Park District obtains and stores only the domain name of the website visitor’s computer (for example, gmail.com), its browser type and version, and other related information to speed up the future performance of webpage delivery. All information is deleted from the website visitor’s cache memory when closing the session and leaving the site. The Park District collects no other personal information.
The Park District uses Google Analytics and Google AdWords for this purpose, and those services are in place on the Virginia Theatre website in order to learn more about our visitors and customers. The Park District allows the online purchase of Virginia Theatre event tickets, merchandise, and gift cards. Any information submitted online for those purchases is subject to the same safeguards as if the purchase were made in person at the theatre rather than via the internet.
Sending the Park District/Virginia Theatre Email
The Park District values your feedback. When the Park District or the Virginia Theatre receive an email with questions or comments about events, programs, or services, they do collect your email address and any other information that has been volunteered.
The Park District and Virginia Theatre websites contain links to other sites. The Park District is not responsible for privacy practices or the content of such sites.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
The Park District and Virginia Theatre do not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people or nonaffiliated companies except to provide products or services you have requested. We may provide the information to trusted partners who work on behalf of or with the Park District or Virginia Theatre. Those entities or individuals may use information in the normal course of offering events, programs, or activities. However, those companies do not have any independent right to share such information. The Park District may use such information to respond to subpoenas, court orders, legal process or requests, or establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against claims; or if we believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or act regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of Park District ordinances or policies, or as otherwise required by law.
