Champaign — The Virginia Theatre has been notified that singer-songwriter GORDON LIGHTFOOT was injured earlier this week and is now unable to perform at the theatre on Monday, August 16, 2021.
While working at home Monday evening, Mr. Lightfoot had an accident which resulted in a compound fracture of his right arm. He underwent surgery Tuesday to install a plate and screws—a procedure which was successful. Mr. Lightfoot is now recovering and is looking forward to resuming his tour this fall, said his agent in an email today.
The concert has been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at 8pm at the Virginia Theatre, 203 West Park Avenue, Champaign IL, 61820.
The Virginia is offering a full refund to any current GORDON LIGHTFOOT ticketholder not wishing to attend the new date. Patrons should email the theatre at virginia@champaignparks.org to request a refund, or call 217/356-9063.
Patrons who would like to attend the new concert date on February 1, 2022, should hold on to their tickets, as they will be honored at the new date.
