The Champaign Park District (Park District), as owner of the Virginia Theatre, is committed to maintaining online privacy. The Park District’s Online Privacy Policy applies to data collected for the Park District, including the Virginia Theatre. The Park District does not collect personal information without permission.
Personal information that is collected, such as name, address, telephone number, and other non-protected data are private and cannot be given to the general public, including third parties, for direct correspondence or advertising purposes. The Park District utilizes this information for the processing of ticket sales for programs and events at the Virginia Theatre and in order to contact you, if necessary. If such information is not provided, you may not be able to purchase tickets for Virginia Theatre programs or events.
The information you provide may be released to: persons authorized to have access to the information under state or federal law; persons authorized by court order to have access to the information; persons to whom you have given written consent to have access to the information; and all individuals employed by or permitted under contract with the Park District who have a need to know the information in order to administer, manage, and improve Park District programming, administration, and operations. At any time, you may request that your online Virginia Theatre patron account be deactivated, and we will comply with your request. Historical transactions may be retained by the Park District for audit and archival purposes.
Information Gathering and Cookies:
A cookie is a very small test file inserted onto your computer by a website that a person visits. When a user returns to the website, the cookie is then read by the site’s web server. Cookies are used for many things, from making websites more personal to tracking your web browsing habits.
Visitors to the Virginia Theatre website can read or download information, such as schedules, forms, or brochures from the website. The Park District obtains and stores only the domain name of the website visitor’s computer (for example, gmail.com), its browser type and version, and other related information to speed up the future performance of webpage delivery. All information is deleted from the website visitor’s cache memory when closing the session and leaving the site. The Park District collects no other personal information.

On-Line Transactions:
The Park District allows the online purchase of Virginia Theatre event tickets, merchandise, and gift cards. Any information submitted online for those purchases is subject to the same safeguards as if the purchase were made in person at the theatre rather than via the internet.
Sending the Park District/Virginia Theatre Email:
The Park District values your feedback. When the Park District or the Virginia Theatre receive an email with questions or comments about events, programs, or services, they do collect your email address and any other information that has been volunteered.
Other Websites:
The Park District and Virginia Theatre websites contain links to other sites. The Park District is not responsible for privacy practices or the content of such sites.
Information Sharing and Disclosure:
The Park District and Virginia Theatre do not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people or nonaffiliated companies except to provide products or services you have requested. We may provide the information to trusted partners who work on behalf of or with the Park District or Virginia Theatre. Those entities or individuals may use information in the normal course of offering events, programs, or activities. However, those companies do not have any independent right to share such information. The Park District may use such information to respond to subpoenas, court orders, legal process or requests, or establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against claims; or if we believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or act regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of Park District ordinances or policies, or as otherwise required by law.
