The Champaign Park District offers a flexible season subscription option at the historic Virginia Theatre, with a specially-curated list of events to choose from. Just pick three (3) or more “VT Series” events and get great perks that include:
- Discounted tickets to VT Series shows.
- First notice of new shows as they are added throughout the year.
- Access to your reserved Subscription seats when a new VT Series show is announced.
- Option to keep your same seats when you renew each season.
- As a bonus, you will receive a free Film Passport which allows free admittance to all News-Gazette, Arthouse, Mix & Rewind movies all year long when you subscribe to six (6) or more VT Series events.

Q: I’m not currently a Subscriber. How do I become one?
A: To start your subscription, call the Virginia Theatre box office or visit us in person to purchase tickets to at least 3 VT Series events in one transaction. Sorry, subscriptions and exclusive discounted pricing not available online.
Q: When can I start my Subscription?
A: New subscriptions are on sale now and are available for purchase at any point in the season (as long as three VT Series shows remain available).
Q: What if I already purchased tickets to a show that is part of this season’s VT Series?
A: Tickets to 3 upcoming VT Series shows must be completed in one qualifying transaction to be classified as a subscription. Previous purchases do not apply.
Q: What if I ever want to sit in a different location from my regular series seats?
A: The box office tries to hold the same seats for each subscriber for each VT Series show (on some occasions, we may not be able to hold your specific seats due to artist requirements), but you are always welcome to sit in different seats or price points from show-to-show, as long as those seats are open and not held by another subscriber or patron.
Q: Can I buy tickets for my friend who is not a Subscriber?
A: Additional tickets (guest seats) may be purchased to series and non-series events alike along with your subscription. Sorry, guest seats cannot be discounted and will be placed in best available open inventory.
Q: Why can’t I get my discount on every show at the Virginia?
A: Discounts and subscriber benefits, like reserved seats, are only available at shows labeled as VT Series. Not every performance is part of the series, but many tours that perform here do choose to be a part of this program, and we have a great variety of events to choose from each season!
Q: Is the Film Passport good at Ebertfest?
A: When you purchase 6 or more VT Series events, you receive a Virginia Theatre Film Passport for each seat in your subscription! A Film Passport allows free admission to any and all News-Gazette, Arthouse, Mix & Rewind movie screenings at the Virginia this season. Passes not valid at Ebertfest films or other special film presentations.
