Champaign, IL – The staff of the Virginia Theatre and the Champaign Park District were deeply saddened to learn that Carlo Anzelmo passed away earlier this week.
Mr. Anzelmo was a dearly loved, long-time volunteer at the Virginia, where he could frequently be found with his wife, Peggy, ushering patrons to their seats in Aisle 4 on the main floor.
Carlo was incredibly popular with patrons of all ages, always offering a warm, sincere greeting to everyone who passed through his door and never missing a chance to aid someone in need of help.
Carlo and Peggy have both given countless hours to the theatre in their many decades of volunteering and are beloved here at the Virginia and throughout Champaign-Urbana.
Our thoughts are with Carlo’s family today as we mourn the loss of a wonderful friend and an example of a joyful life lived generously in service to his community.
